| saudade | (no direct translation) | A longing for something or someone absent. Not quite "miss" — it carries warmth and nostalgia together. Que saudade! is one of the most naturally Brazilian things you can say. |
| Tá ligado? / Tá? | You know what I mean? / OK? | Informal check-in that the listener is following. Tá alone is also a casual "OK" or "sure". |
| É isso. | That's it. / Exactly. | A soft confirmation or agreement — often used to wrap up an explanation warmly. |
